Containers for yard waste may be either a reusable container clearly marked “Yard Waste” or a paper or other biodegradable bag with a capacity not to exceed thirty (30) gallons. The Village’s Contractor will pick up an unlimited-number of containers at curbside. For curbside pickup, all containers shall be placed near the street in front of the residential unit. It shall be the responsibility of each resident to see the containers are placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the designated collection days the weeks of Monday May 2nd and Monday May 16th. Curbside refers to that portion of the right-of-way adjacent to paved or traveled roadways. Bags shall only contain leaves and or Grass Clippings. Feces or Garbage will not be picked-up. Nothing herein shall limit residents of the village from disposing of yard waste at their own expense in accordance with their respective waste haulers' rates and procedures.

The Village of Chatham is seeking to fill the position of a Groundman/Locator. A Groundman/Locator is an entry level position in the electric department and performs a variety of labor duties necessary to assist journeyman level workers and others in installing, maintaining, repairing and/or operating village electrical grid and equipment.

THE VILLAGE OF CHATHAM wants this Halloween to be as safe and as enjoyable as possible for those taking part; The Village is recommending to the parents of children taking part in the trick-or-treating that Halloween be observed on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And those families who want to be visited by the Trick-Or-Treaters leave their porch light on.

Village Clean-up/Dumpster Day will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 7:00 am until noon in Chatham Community Park. The Village of Chatham will furnish dumpsters and personnel to assist in unloading material brought to the park by citizens of Chatham only. We ask that everybody enters Community Park at the Park Street entrance (by the tennis/pickleball courts) and proceeds to the drop-off area at the end of Volunteer Drive. I.D. must be shown for proof of address. The following materials will not be accepted; electronics, tires, yard waste, batteries, dirt, computers, televisions, concrete, roofing, railroad ties, paint or any appliance with freon. If the appliance has had the freon removed, we will accept the appliance. If you are at least 65 or handicapped and need assistance with your material, please call the Village office at 483-2451 and your name will be placed on a list for help. Please let us know what material you need to get rid of at the time you call. If you have any questions, please call the Village office at 483-2451.
